Balkan Women History is a non-commercial educational resource. We make every reasonable effort to use only material that is in the public domain or made available under a free licence (such as Creative Commons), and to credit each source on our Credits page. Historical artworks reproduced here — frescoes, mosaics, manuscript illuminations, and similar works — are believed to be in the public domain due to their age.
Copyright status can be complex and occasionally unclear, and despite our best efforts we may make an honest mistake. If we have used something we shouldn't have, we want to make it right.
